Beyond The Tent

by | Jul 6, 2022

What an honor it is for all of us here at Radiant to host this tent crusade for our cities of Colorado Springs and Woodland Park. This Sunday, we will have ONE SERVICE in the tent at 10 am with guest evangelist Mario Murillo. This is a historical moment, so do not miss it! Register your kids now for the RadKids ministry that will take place inside the worship center during the service. Register Here

This tent represents FREEDOM that Christ died to set us free! We are all called to live in His freedom and fight for the freedom of others still bound by Satan. Jesus authorized us and has commanded us to go out and rescue them, bring them to Jesus, baptize them and teach them to follow Jesus (Matthew 28). In Luke 10:2 (CEB), He said to them, “The harvest is bigger than you can imagine, but there are few workers. Therefore, plead with the Lord of the harvest to send out workers for his harvest.”

Those words continue to echo in my spirit, “the harvest is bigger than you can imagine…”. And we desperately need more workers to help bring them in, welcome them into the family, love them, teach them and disciple them. We need you! Please continue to invite people on social media. Invite people everywhere you go. Invite your neighbors, your family, your friends, your co-workers… Jesus gives a parable in Luke 14, telling us to go out and as many as we can find, compel them to come in, so His house is full. So let’s break out and push through every barrier and hindrance. Keep praying, keep inviting, and tell people to come to the tent where they will encounter Jesus.

The tent was like the boats in Luke 5 when Peter and Andrew fished all night, and Jesus told them to cast their net on the other side. They brought in so many fish that their nets were breaking, and the boat started to sink. They had to call on another to bring an additional boat to help haul them in. This is where we are now, and we are thankful to have other churches partnering with us to bring in the harvest and help disciple them. The tent is just the beginning. There is so much more to come that is beyond the tent. And we need your help beyond the tent.

We will invite every new convert to come to a Radiant service at one of our three campuses the Sunday after the tent crusade for a Welcome to the Family service. In that service, Pastor Todd and I will welcome the new believers into the family and introduce them to what it means to be born again. Part of the message will be a clear explanation of water baptism, the meaning, the reason, and the powerful symbolic illustration of our new life in Christ. After the last service at each campus, we will have a cook-out to celebrate and welcome the new members of the family of God. We need you there to help welcome them and reach out to them. We will also have two outdoor baptismal tanks to baptize all the new believers. This is an event you will not want to miss.

The next step in this exciting time of discipleship is a new series called: Following Jesus. This series will cover some of the most important topics like how to know God, how to pray, how to read and study God’s Word, why we worship…and others. Please understand that this season is all about each of us stepping up to reach out to new believers and help assimilate them into the family and see them grow. This is exciting! We need you with us every week, leading by example as a passionate lover of God. These new believers must see us faithfully following Jesus, passionately worshipping Him, and living by and in His Truth.

But there’s more! Wednesday, July 27th, will launch the start of Fire Groups at every campus. We need your presence and commitment to these groups to come alongside the new believers. They need your smiles, your encouraging words, your love, support, care, and friendship. The children of the new converts need to be disciplined too! Please sign up here to help minister and disciple the kids during Fire Groups. This is a five-week commitment, and we need you now! So please jump in now and help us to bring them in and train them up to be passionate followers of Jesus Christ who will impact the world!

Love is a verb, and ministry is spelled “W.O.R.K.” Those of us with kids know that love grows as kids grow but the work begins after the child is born. They go hand in hand. So it is with new believers. It’s work that is rewarding…like parenting…but perhaps more importantly our love for the Lord grows as we learn to love His children. And thus we fulfill the Great Commandment as we obey the Great Commission. Well said, PK!!
