The Andrew Principle

by | May 24, 2022

In a recent conversation with Mario Murillo, he began talking to me about the Andrew Principle. He explained that this was the principle that Billy Graham followed and taught others to apply. I listened intently as Mario spoke, “Kelly, you need to lead your congregation in following the Andrew Principle to reach their family members, friends, neighbors and co-workers.”

We have entered a very strategic season of EXTREME EVANGELISM at Radiant and we are all about to see the greatest harvest of souls coming into the Kingdom, that we’ve ever personally witnessed. I tremble as I type this message because I can feel it so strongly in my spirit. Pastor Todd and I want to plead, challenge, encourage and admonish every one of you to engage fully in this amazing summer of Extreme Evangelism with us. We anticipate that this season will be the most amazing summer of our lives as we partner with other pastors, leaders and churches to see revival and awakening in our cities and state.

The Andrew Principle is where it starts with each of us. Our campus pastors will be talking about this in our worship services this weekend; so make sure you get to church this weekend. We have special evangelism tools and resources to get into your hands.

Please read John 1:40-42, “Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. 41 The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, ‘We have found the Messiah’ (that is, the Christ). 42 And he brought him to Jesus.”

The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother and tell him about Jesus. Andrew began with reaching family but it could also have been friends, neighbors, co-workers, and others as well. The second thing Andrew did was “he brought him to Jesus” (v.42). He didn’t just hope that somehow his brother would find his way to Jesus. He didn’t just pray that circumstances would line up and other people would come along and he would find his own way to Jesus. Andrew went after his brother, told him about Jesus andthen brought him to Jesus. Then, Jesus took over and did the rest. Andrew got him there and Simon Peter encountered Jesus. Jesus transformed Peter’s life and then Peter led 1,000s to Christ!

I pray that as you read these words, the Holy Spirit’s fire will fall upon your heart again and stir your soul to follow Andrew’s example. Begin praying now! Ask the Holy Spirit to show you the people in your life that He wants you to pray for and reach out to. Tell them about the tent crusade and then bring them to the tent (July 10-13). Jesus will be there! They will encounter Jesus! And they will most likely be saved, delivered and transformed by His grace!

It’s time for a summer of Extreme Evangelism and it begins now with you and me! Let us run into the roars of the enemy and rebel against all fear, intimidation, selfishness and pride that would keep us from reaching out like Andrew and bringing the lost to Christ!
