The Forgotten Justice Issue

 

The word “justice” has become one of the biggest buzz words in our culture. Cultural influencers incessantly speak of social justice, economic justice, even climate justice, and the list of perceive injustices goes on and on.

Justice is a word the Biblical prophets often focused on. In Isaiah 61:8 (NIV) we read, “For I, the LORD, love justice; I hate robbery and wrongdoing.”
Justice flows out of the character and nature of God.

What is just shouldn’t be a sliding scale or determined by arbitrary humans. God determines what is just. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. wrote, “A just law is a man-made code that squares with the moral law, or the law of God.” Justice according to God is without partiality and aligns with what His good will for humanity. It is found in the Scripture, particularly the moral law of God, found in the Ten Commandments. When Biblical justice reigns in a society, it leads to a healthy and whole nation.

Part of Biblical justice includes helping the poor, the hurting, and the marginalized. We are to come to the aid of those who are being unjustly treated. This is very important to the Lord. But it is never at the expense of compromising Biblical truth and Scriptural values. This is critical and something missed in most justice talk today.

That brings me to a justice issue that isn’t usually categorized as one. That is election integrity. Election fraud clearly violates the eighth commandment, “You shall not steal” and it is an ungodly act that clearly causes injustice.

Charges of voter fraud and manipulation are widespread in nations like Venezuela. In national elections in America, it has rarely been a significant factor. But there was something clearly different in the 2020 Presidential Election. In fact, a missionary friend of mine who lived in Venezuela for many years said the 2020 US election brought back troubling memories of what he lived through in that corrupt country.

Overnight, election offices closed, and when we turned on the news in the morning, the numbers looked very different from the night before. Suspicious videos appeared, concerned citizens produced hundreds of signed affidavits of people claiming to witness fraud, and strange anomalies appeared in the election without good explanation.

COVID-19 allowed for the changing of laws, the disregarding of election standards, and the sending out of millions of mail-in-ballots. There was a sense of injustice and unfairness. This led to a protest at the nation’s Capitol building on January 6, 2021, that turned ugly and even violent. This lawless riot led to arrests, incarcerations, and the national silencing of any talk of election fraud.

Despite a strong narrative that the 2020 election was secure and fair, and a massive silencing of dissenting voices, many Americas could not help but believe something about the election wasn’t right. Yet, most felt there wasn’t overwhelming evidence proving that there was enough fraud to change the outcome.

Now a new documentary has been released by Dinesh D’Souza called 2000 Mules. Using the research of an investigative organization called True the Vote, D’Souza makes a compelling argument for election fraud through covert and sometimes overt ballot stuffing. “Mules” are illegal ballot harvesters. Geo-tracking is used to follow these “mules” as they leave leftist organizations to visit voting drop boxes in swing states, where typically late in the night, they are seen on video surveillance, stuffing ballots.

Of course, the movie is being censored, and fact checked. Having read fact-checking articles critical of the movie, the primary argument is that in some states people are allowed to legally drop off ballots for others. Yet, it’s important to understand the “others” are only to be family members and caregivers of people with disabilities. This certainly does not include the mules tracked by True the Vote, who made 10 or more visits to 5 or more drop boxes, after visiting liberal organization, and typically being paid to commit the crime. This is all illegal and according to True the Vote were numerous enough to change the results of the Presidential election. The other argument is that geo-tracking isn’t fully reliable or pinpoint. Yet, it was used to locate those who may have COVID during the pandemic. It has also been effectively used by law enforcement to apprehend criminals.

Catherine Engelbrecht of True the Vote is planning to release all their video and data “the world needs to see.” Hopefully, this will identify the names of the non-profit organizations and of the names of the mules. Justice demands a thorough investigation of this evidence, and we must take measures that will ensure such fraud does not occur in future U.S. elections.

Even if the evidence is not conclusive in changing the outcome of the results, it does warrant further investigation. It also confirms that illegal procedures were used in the election, that must not be employed in future elections.
